nest jackson hole.

it’s always fun when something new comes to Jackson Hole.
but it’s even more fun when an adorable women’s store opens their doors!
Nest rebranded and moved locations to 155 W. Pearl, right next to Pearl Street Bagels, and has the sweetest outfits for Summer.
Noa, the owner, said she wanted to bring tomboy chic to Town and i jumped all over that.
um, please and thank you!
when she was describing her style, she said she was inspired by the shopping in Amsterdam and if you know, YOU KNOW.
it’s that good.

she recently remodeled the charming bungalow inside and out – with the sweetest garden in Town – and filled it with darling clothing, accessories, and home goods.
the clothing ranges in pricing with brands like Lucky Brand, Sanctuary, and Scotch & Soda (my personal fave!).
and the accessories are so well priced it will be hard to walk away with just one thing.
i’m obsessed with the HATS!
so many hats that are perfect for upcoming vacations or days on the river.
and the clutches + bags = don’t get me started!

new goods are arriving weekly so make sure to pop in for a fresh new summer outfit or just to boost your mood, because the cabin has the happiest energy!

snowpocalypse 2017.

Feb 8, 2017

i think it goes with out saying that this winter has been insane.  we’ve received over 400 inches of snowfall, which when you put into the google, is converted to over 33 feet.  and counting! because, you know, it’s only the beginning of february in jackson hole, wyoming.

lucky for me, there is this rad entrepreneurial company that is local, right here in jackson hole, that invented this awesome shovel!  DMOS Collective created this shovel with everyone in mind and as someone who lives and breathes in the mountains, it’s truly perfect for my every day work-play-work lifestyle.

this green beauty lives in my trunk, along with my other ski gear for days in the backcountry, or if heaven forbid i get stuck in a snow bank (wouldn’t be the first time….), or if i just need to do some plowing around my cabin or office. she’s super light and easy to put together!

DMOS is running a kickstarter campaign that i’m happily promoting, as this is a product i really love and believe in!  or just head to their website and purchase a shovel for this winter madness!!!

baby ask.

following my last post, i’m aiming to take more photos of beautiful people in 2017.  my first shoot of the year was with maddy, a local jackson hole musician, who happens to have the greatest smile 🙂

i first met maddy about 6 years ago. i distinctly remember her telling me after a dinner party that she wanted to follow her dreams and become a musician.  it was until i saw her perform this past year that i was able to see how talented she truly is.  this girl is a passionate artist through and through.  not only does she sing, she also composes, which i think is one of the raddest things ever!

i have the utmost respect for entrepreneurial women following their passions and wanted to help spread the word about her current kickstarter campaign for her music video, Baby Ask, that you can see below.  a collaborative effort by local artists and filmmakers, this funding will be just the beginning for her musical efforts.  maddy is hoping to take this incredible talent and vision to showcase more musicians and artists in a unique documentary style.

as a newbie in photography, I am learning the ropes of the creative world and realize how important it is to support artists, especially locally.  take a few minutes to watch this campaign and remember even a little goes a long way!

tomboy chic.

this post was a fun one! local clothing designers Western Range Clothing asked me to incorporate their ties into a few feminine looks.  i’m certainly not one to turn down a chance for tomboy fashion so i was up for the challenge….especially with these dreamy accessories. i mean, how cute are those western details?!

the silk on this gorgeous black tie is even more buttery in person. the loose look seriously steps up this outfit to city chic, something i sometimes try to incorporate out west. and at my new favorite local hot spot, Hotel Jackson, i’m all about fitting in with my surroundings.

after doing this shoot, i’m reeeeaaallly trying to push bowties into women’s fashion. pink antlers, are you kidding me? the one would also look super hot on a boyfriend but until i find one….i’ll take one in each style for myself, please! i vote girls in bowties for life.

all of the ties are designed in Jackson Hole, using silks woven in England, and made right here in the USA.  Western Range Clothing also carries shirts that are made in the USA and are soon to be adding more goods to their line.  i really can’t think of a better gift for a guy in your life. and hellooo groomsmen for jackson hole weddings!

one thing i never expected to ever be an everyday necessity in my life was a solid pair of gloves. being a wyoming girl for 8 years now, i’ve learned they are absolutely essential.
my friend Bubba has put his heart and soul into his brand, Give’r, and with just ONE DAY left, he’s already crushing his Kickstarter Campaign.
and for good reason. these gloves are solid.
IMG_0718i stopped by the Give’r HQ for a step-by-step demonstation of how these new and improved gloves come to life. the boy individually waxes every pair HIMSELF.
talk about dedication. love me a solid entrepreneur who legit gets his hands dirty.

Untitled 4

Step 1:  i picked out my swanky new pair, designed by Bubba, and made from premium cow leather with a waterproof and breathable middle membrane.  a thinsulate insulation layer was added to really keep those fingers warm…..perfect for me! he then popped them in his 1960’s oven.

Step 2:  while the gloves cooked, hot wax was slowly melting in a small crockpot nearby.
insert {i freaking love passionate entrepreneurs}

IMG_0725Step 3:  Bubba personally puts on each and every pair, making sure every glove is covered in the perfect amount of wax.

Step 4:  Back in the oven!IMG_0729

Step 5: After letting the gloves cool, i now had a new set of the most badass gloves out there.  #boom.  i’m personally in love with the red trim and red cuffs….love me a pop of color!

Bubba then asked me if i’d like to personalize them…. uh, duh! he personally sat down and engraved the leather himself.

IMG_0746IMG_0755it’s so admirable to see a fellow entrepreneur doing what he loves with the devotion to each and every order, from start to finish.

this kickstarter campaign ends today, so get on over there and get your new pair of Give’r gloves….designed, tested, and made with love in Jackson Hole.
